Kitchen and Dining Exprience

Sleek and Practical

Design Brief:

  • To remove the dividing wall between the kitchen and dining room and block the existing kitchen door
  • To create an open plan kitchen/dining experience
  • Retain the Edwardian features of the property but give a new and contemporary edge
  • Make full use of the open chimney breast in the kitchen area

This highly involved project required several trades to be carefully coordinated in order to limit the level of disruption to the family. Builders, Electricians, Plumbers, Kitchen Fitters, Plasterers and Tilers were all fitted into a meticulously prepared timetable.

After spending time with our clients we knew that they wanted to create an open space which was ideal for the family and for entertaining. The result was that we included a large breakfast bar in our design and made a feature of the cooking area by placing the hob into the chimney breast.

Using a combination of contemporary styling with more traditional materials we gave a feeling of modern sophistication whilst complimenting the style and age of the property.

The final impact was sleek practicality with an air of light and space.
